1. हाय उन पर जो दुष्टता से न्याय करते, और उन पर जो उत्पात करने की आज्ञा लिख देते हैं,

1. Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers that write perverseness:

2. कि वे कंगालों का न्याय बिगाड़ें और मेरी प्रजा के दी लोगों का हक मारें, कि वे विधवाओं को लूटें और अनाथों का माल अपना लें!

2. to turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right of the poor of my people, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!

3. तुम दण्ड के दिन और उस आपत्ति के दिन जो दूर से आएगी क्या करोगे? तुम सहायता के लिये किसके पास भाग कर जाओगे?
1 पतरस 2:12

3. And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

4. और तुम अपने विभव को कहां रख्.ा छोड़ोगे? वे केवल बंधुओं के पैरों के पास गिर पड़ेंगे और मरे हुओं के नीचे दबे पड़े रहेंगे। इतने पर भी उसका क्रोध शान्त नहीं हुआ और उसका हाथ अब तक बढ़ा हुआ है।।

4. They shall only bow down under the prisoners, and shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

5. अश्शूर पर हाय, जो मेरे क्रोध का लठ और मेरे हाथ में का सोंटा है! वह मेरा क्रोध है।

5. Ho Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, the staff in whose hand is mine indignation!

6. मैं उसको एक भक्तिहीन जाति के विरूद्ध भेजूंगा, और जिन लोगों पर मेरा रोष भड़का है उनके विरूद्ध उसको आज्ञा दूंगा कि छीन छान करे और लूट ले, और उनको सड़कों की कीच के समान लताड़े।

6. I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

7. परन्तु उसकी ऐसी मनसा न होगी, न उसके मन में यही है कि मैं बहुत सी जातियों का नाश और अन्त कर डालूं।

7. Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off nations not a few.

8. कयोंकि वह कहता है, क्या मेरे सब हाकिम राजा के तुल्य नहीं है?

8. For he saith, Are not my princes all of them kings?

9. क्या कलनो कर्कमीश के समान नहीं है? क्या हमात अर्पद के और शोमरोन दमिश्क के समान नहीं?

9. Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?

10. जिस प्रकार मेरा हाथ मूरतों से भरे हुए उन राज्यों पर पहुंचा जिनकी मूरतें यरूशलेम और शोमरोन की मूरतों से बढ़कर थीं, और जिस प्रकार मैं ने शोमरोन और उसकी मूरतों से किया,

10. As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;

11. क्या उसी प्रकार मैं यरूशलेम से और उसकी मूरतों से भी न करूं?

11. shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?

12. इस कारण जब प्रभु सिरयोन पर्वत पर और यरूशलेम में अपना सब काम का चुकेगा, तब मैं अश्शूर के राजा के गर्व की बातों का, और उसकी घमण्ड भरी आंखों का पलटा दूंगा।

12. Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

13. उस ने कहा है, अपने ही बाहुबल और बुद्धि से मैं ने यह काम किया है, क्योंकि मैं चतुर हूं; मैं ने देश देश के सिवानों को हटा दिया, और उनके रखे हुए धन को लूअ लिया; मैं ने वीर की नाई गद्दी पर विराजनेहारों को उतार दिया है।

13. For he hath said, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and I have brought down as a valiant man them that sit {cf15i on thrones}:

14. देश देश के लोगों की धनसम्पत्ति, चिड़ियों के घोंसलों की नाईं, मेरे हाथ आई है, और जैसे कोई छोड़े हुए अण्डों को बटोर ले वैसे ही मैं ने सारी पृथ्वी को बटोर लिया है; और कोई पंख फड़फड़ाने वा चोंच खोलने वा चीं चीं करनेवाला न था।।

14. and my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathereth eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth: and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped.

15. क्या कुल्हाड़ा उसक विरूद्ध जो उस से काटता हो डींग मारे, वा आरी उसके विरूद्ध जो उसे खींचता हो बड़ाई करे? क्या सोंटा अपने चलानेवाले को चलाए वा छड़ी उसे उठाए जो काठ नहीं है!

15. Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if a rod should shake them that lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up {cf15i him that is} not wood.

16. इस कारण प्रभु अर्थात् सेनाओं का प्रभु उस राजा के हृष्टपुष्ट योद्धाओं को दुबला कर देगा, और उसके ऐश्वर्य के नीचे आग की सी जलन होगी।

16. Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory there shall be kindled a burning like the burning of fire.

17. इस्राएल की ज्योति तो आग ठहरेगी, और इस्राएल का पवित्रा ज्वाला ठहरेगा; और वह उसके झाड़ झंखार को एक ही दीन में भस्म करेगा।

17. And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.

18. और जैसे रोगी के क्षीण हो जाने पर उसकी दशा होती है वैसी ही वह उसके वन और फलदाई बारी की शोभा पूरी रीति से नाश करेगा।

18. And he shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and it shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.

19. उस वन के वृक्ष इतने थोड़े रह जाएंगे कि लड़का भी उनको गिन कर लिख लेगा।।

19. And the remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.

20. उस समय इस्राएल के बचे हुए लोग और याकूब के घराने के भागे हुए, अपने मारनेवाले पर फिर कभी भरोसा न रखेंगे, परन्तु यहोवा जो इस्राएल का पवित्रा है, उसी पर वे सच्चाई से भरोसा रखेंगे।

20. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and they that are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

21. याकूब में से बचे हुए लोग पराक्रमी परमेश्वर की ओर फिरेंगे।

21. A remnant shall return, {cf15i even} the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.

22. क्योंकि हे इस्राएल, चाहे तेरे लोग समुद्र की बालू के किनकों के समान भी बहुत हों, तौभी निश्चय है कि उन में से केवल बचे लोग भी लौटेंगे। सत्यानाश तो पूरे न्याय के साथ ठाना गया है।
रोमियों 9:27-28

22. For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, {cf15i only} a remnant of them shall return: a consumption {cf15i is} determined, overflowing with righteousness.

23. क्योंकि प्रभु सेनाओं के यहोवा ने सारे देश का सत्यानाश कर देना ठाना है।।
रोमियों 9:27-28

23. For a consummation, and that determined, shall the Lord, the LORD of hosts, make in the midst of all the earth.

24. इसलिये प्रभु सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, हे सिरयोन में रहनेवालों मेरी प्रजा, अश्शूर से मत डर; चाहे वह सोंटें से तुझे मारे और मि की नाई तेरे ऊपर छड़ी उठाएं।

24. Therefore thus saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: though he smite thee with the rod, and lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

25. क्योंकि अब थोड़ी ही देर है कि मेरी जलन और क्रोध उनका सत्यानाश करके शान्त होगा

25. For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall be accomplished, and mine anger, in their destruction.

26. और सेनाओं का यहोवा उसके विरूद्ध कोड़ा उठाकर उसको ऐसा मारेगा जैसा उस ने ओरेब नाम चट्टान पर मिद्यानियों को मारा था; और जेया उस ने मिस्त्रियों के विरूद्ध समुद्र पर लाठी बढ़ाई, वैसा ही उसकी ओर भी बढ़ाएगा।

26. And the LORD of hosts shall stir up against him a scourge, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and his rod shall be over the sea, and he shall lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

27. उस समय ऐसा होगा कि उसका बोझ तेरे कंधे पर से और उसका जूआ तेरी गर्दन पर से उठा लिया जाएगा, और अभिषेक के कारण वह जूआ तोड़ डाला जाएगा।।

27. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall depart from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

28. वह अरयात् में आया है, और मिग्रोन में से होकर आगे बढ़ गया है; मिकमाश में उस ने अपना सामान रखा है।

28. He is come to Aiath, he is passed through Migron; at Michmash he layeth up his baggage:

29. वे घाटी से पार हो गए, उन्हों ने गेबा में रात काटी; रामा थरथरा उठा है, शाऊल का गिबा भाग निकला है।

29. they are gone over the pass; they have taken up their lodging at Geba: Ramah trembleth; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

30. हे गल्लीम की बेटी चिल्ला! हे लैशा के लागों कान लगाओ! हाय बेचारा अनातोत!

30. Cry aloud with thy voice, O daughter of Gallim! hearken, O Laishah! O thou poor Anathoth!

31. मदमेना मारा मारा फिरता है, गेबीम के निवासी भागने के लिये अपना अपना समान इकट्टा कर रहे हैं।

31. Madmenah is a fugitive; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.

32. आज ही के दिन वह नोब में टिकेगा; तब वह सिरयोन पहाड़ पर, और यरूशलेम की पहाड़ी पर हाथ उठाकर घमाकएगा।

32. This very day shall he halt at Nob: he shaketh his hand at the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

33. देखो, प्रभु सेनाओं का यहोवा पेड़ों को भयानक रूप से छांट डालेगा; ऊँचे ऊँचे वृक्ष काटे जाएंगे, और जो ऊँचे हैं सो नीचे किए जाएंगे।

33. Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the boughs with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the lofty shall be brought low.

34. वह घने वन को लोहे से काट डालेगा और लबानोन एक प्रतापी के हाथ से नाश किया जाएगा।।

34. And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
