1. संकट के समय मैं ने यहोवा को पुकारा, और उस ने मेरी सुन ली।

3. हे छली जीभ, तुझ को क्या मिले? और तेरे साथ और क्या अधिक किया जाए?

3. What shall be given to you? Or what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?--

4. वीर के नोकीले तीर और झाऊ के अंगारे!

4. Sharp arrows of a [mighty] warrior, with [glowing] coals of the broom tree!

5. हाय, हाय, क्योंकि मुझे मेशेक में परदेशी होकर रहना पड़ा और केदार के तम्बुओं में बसना पड़ा है!

5. Woe is me that I sojourn with Meshech, that I dwell beside the tents of Kedar [as if among notoriously barbarous people]! [Gen. 10:2; 25:13; Jer. 49:28, 29.]

6. बहुत काल से मुझ को मेल के बैरियों के साथ बसना पड़ा है।

6. My life has too long had its dwelling with him who hates peace.

7. मैं तो मेल चाहता हूं; परन्तु मेरे बोलते ही, वे लड़ना चाहते हैं!

7. I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
