1. और योशिरयाह ने यरूशलेम में यहोवा के लिये फसह पर्व माना और पहिले महीने के चौदहवें दिन को फसह का पशु बलि किया गया।

1. And Josiah kept, in Jerusalem, a passover unto Yahweh, and they slaughtered the passover, on the fourteenth of the first month.

2. और उस ने याजकों को अपने अपने काम में ठहराया, और यहोवा के भवन में की सेवा करने को उनका हियाब बन्धाया।

2. And he set the priests over their charges, and encouraged them unto the service of the house of Yahweh;

3. फिर लेवीय जो सब इस्राएल लियों को सिखाते और यहोवा के लिये पवित्रा ठहरे थे, उन से उस ने कहा, तुम पवित्रा सन्दूक को उस भवन में रखो जो दाऊद के पुत्रा इस्राएल के राजा सुलैमान ने बनवाया था; अब तुम को कन्धों पर बोझ उठाना न होगा। अब अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की और उसकी प्रजा इस्राएल की सेवा करो।

3. and said to the Levites who gave instruction to all Israel as to the things which were hallowed unto Yahweh, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon son of David king of Israel did build, it is not yours as a burden on the shoulder, Now, serve ye Yahweh your God, and his people Israel;

4. और इस्राएल के राजा दाऊद और उसके पुत्रा सुलैमान दोनों की लिखी हुई विधियों के अनुसार, अपने अपने पितरों के अनुसार, अपने अपने दल में तैयार रहो।

4. and prepare yourselves by your ancestral houses, according to your courses, by the writing of David king of Israel, and by what hath been written by Solomon his son;

5. और तुम्हारे भाई लोगों के पितरों के घरानों के भागों के अनुसार पवित्रास्थान में खड़े रहो, अर्थात् उनके एक भाग के लिये लेवियों के एक एक पितर के घराने का एक भाग हो।

5. and stand ye in the holy place, by the divisions of the ancestral house, for your brethren, the sons of the people, and the partitioning of an ancestral house, for the Levites.

6. और फसह के पशुओं को बलि करो, और अपने अपने को पवित्रा करके अपने भाइयों के लिये तैयारी करो कि वे यहोवा के उस वचन के अनुसार कर सकें, जो उस ने मूसा के द्वारा कहा था।

6. So slaughter ye the passover, and hallow yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, that they may do according to the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Moses.

7. फिर योशिरयाह ने सब लोगों को जो वहां उपस्थित थे, तीस हजार भेड़ों और बकरियों के बच्चे और तीन हजार बैल दिए थे; ये सब फसह के बलिदानों के लिये राजा की सम्पत्ति में से दिए गए थे।

7. And Josiah presented to the sons of the people of flocks, young sheep and the young of the goats, the whole for the passover offerings, for all present, to the number of thirty thousand, and, of bullocks, three thousand, these, out of the substance of the king.

8. और उसके हाकिमों ने प्रजा के लोगों, याजकों और लेवियों को स्वेच्छा - बलियों के लिये पशु दिए। और हिल्किरयाह, जकर्याह और यहीएल नाम परमेश्वर के भवन के प्रधानों ने याजकों को दो हजार छेसौ भेड -़ बकरियां। और तीन सौ बैल फसह के बलिदानों के लिए दिए।

8. And, his rulers, willingly, to the people and to the priests and to the Levites, presented, Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, chief rulers of the house of God, unto the priests, did give, for passover offerings, two thousand and six hundred, and, of bullocks, three hundred;

9. और कोनन्याह ने और शमायाह और नतनेल जो उसके भाई थे, और हसब्याह, यीएल और योजाबाद नामक लेवियों के प्रधानों ने लेवियों को पांच हजार भेड़- बकरियां, और पांच सौ बैल फसह के बलिदानों के लिये दिए।

9. and, Conaniah, and Shemaiah and Nethanel his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, rulers of the Levites, presented to the Levites, for passover offerings, five thousand, and, of bullocks, five hundred.

10. इस प्रकार उपासना की तैयारी हो गई, और राजा की आज्ञा के अनुसार याजक अपने अपने स्थान पर, और लेवीय अपने अपने दल में खड़े हुऐ।

10. Thus was the service prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the commandment of the king.

11. तब फसह के पशु बलि किए गए, और याजक बलि करनेवालों के हाथ से लोहू को लेकर छिड़क देते और लेवीय उनकी खाल उतारते गए।

11. So they slaughtered the passover, and the priests dashed the blood received at their hand, and the Levites were flaying the offerings .

12. तब उन्हों ने होमबलि के पशु इसलिये अलग किए कि उन्हें लोगों के पितरों के घरानों के भागों के अनुसार दें, कि वे उन्हें यहोवा के लिये चढ़वा दें जैसा कि मूसा की पुस्तक में लिखा है; और बैलों को भी उन्हों ने वैसा ही किया।

12. Then they removed the ascending-sacrifice, that they might give them by the divisions of each ancestral house unto the sons of the people, to offer unto Yahweh, as it is written in the Book of Moses, and, in like manner, with the bullocks.

13. तब उन्हों ने फसह के पशुओं का मांस विधि के अनुसार आग में भूंजा, और पवित्रा वस्तुएं, हंडियों और हंडों और थालियों में सिझा कर फूत से लोगों को पहुंचा दिया।

13. And they cooked the passover with fire, according to the regulation, but, the hallowed things, cooked they in cauldrons and in pots and in bowls, and then took quickly, unto all the sons of the people.

14. तब उन्हों ने अपने लिये और याजकों के लिये तैयारी की, क्योंकि हारून की सन्तान के याजक होमबलि के पशु और चरबी रात तक चढ़ाते रहे, इस कारण लेवियों ने अपने लिये और हारून की सन्तान के याजकों के लिये तैयारी की।

14. And, afterwards, prepared they for themselves and for the priests, because, the priests, the sons of Aaron, had been engaged in offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the fat pieces, until night, the Levites, therefore prepared for themselves, and for the priests, the sons of Aaron.

15. और आसाप के वंश के गवैये, दाऊद, आसाप, हेमान और राजा के दश यदूतून की आज्ञा के अनुसार अपने अपने स्थान पर रहे, और द्वारपाल एक एक फाटक पर रहे। उन्हें अपना अपना काम छोड़ना न पड़ा, क्योंकि उनके भई लेवियों ने उनके लिये तैयारी की।

15. the singers also, the sons of Asaph, were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the seer of the king, and, the doorkeepers, were at the several doors, there was no need for them to remove from their service, for, their brethren the Levites, prepared for them.

16. यों उसी दिन राजा योशिरयाह की आज्ञा के अनुसार फसह मनाने और यहोवा की बेदी पर होमबलि चढ़ाने के लिये यहोवा की सारी अपासना की तैयारी की गई।

16. Thus was all the service of Yahweh prepared on that day; to keep the passover, and to offer up the ascending-sacrifice, upon the altar of Yahweh, according to the commandment of King Josiah.

17. जो इस्राएली वहां उपस्थित थे उन्हों ने फसह को उसी समय और अखमीरी रोटी के पर्व को सात दिन तक माना।

17. So the sons of Israel who were present kept the passover at that time, and the festival of unleavened cakes, seven days.

18. इस फसह के बराबर शमूएल नबी के दिनों से इस्राएल में कोई फसह मनाया न गया था, और न इस्राएल के किसी राजा ने ऐसा मनाया, जैसा योशिरयाह और याजकों, लेवियों और जितने यहूदी और इस्राएली उपस्थित थे, उनहों ने और यरूशलेम के निवासियों ने मनाया।

18. And there had not been kept, a passover like it, in Israel, since the days of Samuel the prophet, yea, none of the kings of Israel, had kept such a passover as was kept by Josiah and the priests and the Levites and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

19. यह फसह योशिरयाह के राज्य के अठारहवें वर्ष में मनाया गया।

19. In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah, was kept this passover.

20. इसके बाद जब योशिरयाह भवन को तैयार कर चुका, तब मिस्र के राजा नको ने परात के पास के कुर्कमीश नगर से लड़ने को चढ़ाई की और योशिरयाह उसका साम्हना करने को गया।

20. After all this when Josiah had prepared the house, Neco king of Egypt came up, to fight against Carchemish, by Euphrates, and Josiah went forth against him.

21. परन्तु उस ने उसके पास दूतों से कहला भेजा, कि हे यहूदा के राजा मेरा तुझ से क्या काम ! आज मैं तुझ पर नहीं उसी कुल पर चढ़ाई कर रहा हूँ, जिसके साथ मैं युठ्ठ करता हूँ; फिर परमेश्वर ने मुझ से फुत करने को कहा है। इसलिये परमेश्वर जो मेरे संग है, उससे अलग रह, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि वह तुझे नाश करे।

21. But he sent unto him messengers, saying What have I to do with thee, O king of Judah? not against thee, have I come this day, but against the house wherewith I have war, and, God, hath given word to speed me, cease thou from provoking God who is with me, lest he destroy thee.

22. परन्तु योशिरयाह ने उस से मुंह न मोड़ा, वरन उस से लड़ने के लिये भेष बदला, और नको के उन वचनों को न माना जो उस ने परमेश्वर की ओर से कहे थे, और मगिद्दॊ की तराई में उस से युठ्ठ करने को गया।

22. Howbeit Josiah turned not his face from him, for, to fight against him, he had disguised himself, and he hearkened not unto the words of Neco, from the mouth of God, so he came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

23. तब धनुर्धारियों ने राजा योशिरयाह की ओर तीर छोड़े; और राजा ने अपने सेवकों से कहा, मैं तो बहुत घायल हुआ, इसलिये मुझे यहां से ले जाओ।

23. And the archers shot at King Josiah, and the king said unto his servants, Take me away, for I am sore wounded.

24. तब उसके सेवकों ने उसको रथ पर से उतार कर उसके दूसरे रथ पर चढ़ाया, और यरूशलेम ले गये। और वह मर गया और उसके पुरखाओं के कब्रिस्तान में उसको मिट्टी दी गई। और यहूदियों और यरूशलेमियों ने योशिरयाह के लिए विलाप किया।

24. So his servants took him away out of the war-chariot, and conveyed him in a second chariot which he had, and carried him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in the sepulchres of his fathers, and, all Judah and Jerusalem, were mourning over Josiah.

25. और यिर्मयाह ने योशिरयाह के लिये विलाप का गीत बनाया और सब गानेवाले और गानेवालियां अपने विलाप के गीतों में योशिरयाह की चर्चा आज तक करती हैं। और इनका गाना इस्राएल में एक विधि के तुल्य ठहराया गया और ये बातें विलापगीतों में लिखी हुई हैं।

25. And Jeremiah chanted a dirge over Josiah, and all the singing men and singing women in their dirges have spoken concerning Josiah, until this day, and they appointed them by statute for Israel, and, there they are, written among the dirges.

26. योशिरयाह के और काम और भक्ति के जो काम उस ने उसी के अनुसार किए जो यहोवा की व्यवस्था में लिखा हुआ है।

26. But, the rest of the story of Josiah, and his lovingkindness, according to that which is written in the law of Yahweh:

27. और आदि से अन्त तक उसके सब काम इस्राएल और यहूदा के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में लिखे हुए हैं।

27. even his story, first and last, there it is, written in the book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
