1. इस्राएल का जेठा तो रूबेन था, परन्तु उस ने जो अपने पिता के बिछौने को अशुद्व किया, इस कारण जेठे का अधिकार इस्राएल के पुत्रा यूसुफ के पुत्रों को दिया गया। वंशावली जेठे के अधिकार के अनुसार नहीं ठहरी।

1. And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, for, he, was the firstborn, but because he defiled the couch of his father, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and he is not to be enrolled in the place of firstborn,

2. क्योकि यहूदा अपने भइयों पर प्रबल हो गया, और प्रधान उसके वंश से हुआ परन्तु जेठे का अधिकार यूसुफ का था।

2. for, Judah, prevailed over his brethren, so that, even the prince, is from him, although, the birthright, pertaineth to Joseph;

3. इस्राएल के जेठे पुत्रा रूबेन के पुत्रा ये हुए, अर्थात् हनोक, पल्लू, हेस्रोन और कम ।

3. the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.

4. और योएल के पुत्रा शमायाह, शमायाह का गोग, गोग का शिमी।

4. The sons of Joel, Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son;

5. शिमी का मीका, मीका का रायाह, रायाह का बाल।

5. Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son;

6. और बाल का पुत्रा बेरा, इसको अश्शूर का राजा तिलगतपिलनेसेर बन्धुआई में ले गया; और वह रूबेनियो का प्रधान था।

6. Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive, he, was a leader to the Reubenites;

7. और उसके भाइयों की चंशवली के लिखते यमय वे अपने अपने कुल के अनुसार ये ठहरे, अर्थात् मुख्य तो यीएल, फिर जकर्याह।

7. and his brethren, by his families, in the genealogical registering, by their generations, the chief Jeiel, and Zechariah;

8. और अजाज का पुत्रा बेला जो शेमा का पोता और योएल का परपोता था, वह अरोएर में और नबो और बाल्मोन तक रहता था।

8. and Bela, the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, he, dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo, and Baal-meon;

9. and, eastward, dwelt he as far as the entering in of the desert, from the river Euphrates, because, their cattle, were multiplied in the land of Gilead;

10. and, in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, so they dwelt in their tents, over all the face of the land east of Gilead.

11. गादी उनके साम्हने सल्का तक बाशान देश में रहते थे।

11. And, the sons of Gad, over against them, dwelt, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:

12. अर्थात् मुख्य तो योएल और दूसरा शापाम फिर यानै और शापात, ये बाशान में रहते थे।

12. Joel the chief, and Shapham, the second, and Janai and Shaphat, in Bashan;

13. और उनके भाई अपने अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार मीकाएल, मशुल्लाम, शेबा, योरै, याकान, जी और एबेर, सात थे।

13. and their brethren of their ancestral house, Michael and Meshullam and Sheba and Jorai and Jacan and Zia and Eber, seven.

14. ये अबीहैल के पुत्रा थे, जो हूरी का पुत्रा था, यह योराह का पुत्रा, यह गिलाद का पुत्रा, यह मिकाएल का पुत्रा, यह यशीशै का पुत्रा, यह यहदो का पुत्रा, यह बूज का पुत्रा था।

14. These, were the sons of Abihail, son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jehishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz,

15. इनके पितरों के घरानों का मुख्य पूरूष अब्दीएल का पुत्रा, और गूनी का पोता अही था।

15. Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, chief of their ancestral house;

16. ये लोग बाशान में, गिलाद और उसके गांवों में, और शारोन की सब चराइयों में उसकी परली ओर तक रहते थे।

16. and they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her villages, and in all the pasture-lands of Sharon, up to their outgoings.

17. इन सभों की वंशावली यहूदा के राजा योनातन के दिनों और इस्राएल के राजा यारोबाम के दिनों में लिखी गई।

17. All of them, were genealogically registered in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18. रूबेनियों, गादियों और मनश्शें के आधे गोत्रा के योठ्ठा जो ढाल बान्धने, तलवार चलाने, और धनुष के तीर छोड़ने के योग्य और युठ्ठ करना सीखे हुए थे, वे चौवालीस हजार सात सौ साठ थे, जो युठ्ठ में जाने के योग्य थे।

18. the sons of Reuben and Gad, and half tribe of Manasseh, of the sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword and bending the bow, and instructed in war, were forty-four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, ready to go forth in the host.

19. इन्हों ने हग्रियों और यतूर नापीश और नोदाब से युठ्ठ किया था।

19. So they made war with the Hagrites, and Jetur and Naphish, and Nodab;

20. उनके विरूद्ध इनको सहायता मिली, और अग्री उन सब समेत जो उनके साथ थे उनके हाथ में कर दिए गए, क्योंकि युठ्ठ में इन्हों ने परमेश्वर की दोहाई दी थी और उस ने उनकी बिनती इस कारण सुनी, कि इन्हों ने उस पर भरोसा रखा था।

20. and were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all that were with them were delivered into their hand, for, unto God, made they outcry, in the war, and he suffered himself to be entreated by them, because they put their trust in him;

21. और इन्हों ने उनके पशु हर लिए, अर्थात् ऊंट तो पचास हजार, भेड़- बकरी अढ़ाई लाख, गदहे दो हजार, और मनुष्य एक लाख बन्धुए करके ले गए।

21. and they captured their cattle their camels, fifty thousand, and, flocks, two hundred and fifty thousand, and, asses, two thousand, and, persons of men, a hundred thousand;

22. और बहुत से मरे पड़े थे क्योंकि वह लड़ाई परमेश्वर की ओर से हुई। और ये उनके स्थान में बन्शुआई के समय तक बसे रहे।

22. for, many slain, fell, for, of God, was the war, and they dwelt in their stead, until the captivity.

23. फिर मनश्शे के आधे गोत्रा की सन्तान उस देश में बसे, और वे बाशान से ले बाल्हेम न, और सनीर और हेम न पर्वत तक फैल गए।

23. And, the sons of the half tribe of Manasseh, dwelt in the land, from Bashan, as far as to Baal-hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon, they, were multiplied.

24. और उनके पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष ये थे, अर्थात् एपेर, यिशी, एलीएल, अज्रीएल, यिर्मयाह, होदरयाह और यहदीएल, ये बड़े वीर और नामी और अपने पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरूष थे।

24. And, these, were the heads of their ancestral house, Epher and Ishi and Eliel and Azriel and Jeremiah and Hodaviah and Jahdiel, men who were heroes of valour, men of renown, chiefs to their ancestral house.

25. और उन्हों ने अपने पितरों के परमेश्वर से विश्वासघात किया, और उस देश के लोग जिनको परमेश्वर ने उनके साम्हने से विनाश किया था, उनके देवताओं के पीछे रयभिचारिन की नाई हो लिए।

25. But they dealt unfaithfully with the God of their fathers, and went unchastely after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed from before them;

26. इसलिये इस्राएल के परमेश्वर ने अश्शूर के राजा पूल और अश्शूर के राजा तिलगत्पिलनेसेर का मन उभारा, और इन्हों ने उन्हें अर्थात् रूबेनियों, गादियों और मनश्शे के आधे गोत्रा के लोगों को बन्धुआ करके हलह, हाबोर और हारा और गोजान नदी के पास पहुंचा दिया; और वे आज के दिन तक वहीं रहते हैं।

26. so the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he took them away captive, even the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them in unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
