1. जब दाऊद अपने भवन में रहने लगा, तब दाऊद ने नातान नबी से कहा, देख, मैं तो देवदारू के बने हुए घर में रहता हूँ, परन्तु यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक तम्बू में रहता है।
प्रेरितों के काम 7:45-46

1. After the king had made himself at home, he said to Nathan the prophet, 'Look at this: Here I am comfortable in a luxurious palace of cedar and the Chest of the Covenant of GOD sits under a tent.'

2. नातान ने दाऊद से कहा, जो कुछ तेरे मन में हो उसे कर, क्योंकि परमेश्वर तेरे संग है।

2. Nathan told David, 'Whatever is on your heart, go and do it; God is with you.'

3. उसी दिन रात को परमेश्वर का यह वचन नातान के पास पहुंचा, जाकर मेरे दास दाऊद से कह,

3. But that night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

4. यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मेरे निवास के लिये तू घर बनवाने न पाएगा।

4. 'Go and tell my servant David, This is GOD's word on the matter: You will not build me a 'house' to live in.

5. क्योंकि जिस दिन से मैं इस्राएलियों को मिस्र से ले आया, आज के दिन तक मैं कभी घर में नहीं रहा; परन्तु एक तम्बू से दूसरे तम्बू को ओर एक निवास से दूसरे निवास को आया जाया करता हूँ।

5. Why, I haven't lived in a 'house' from the time I brought up the children of Israel from Egypt till now; I've gone from one tent and makeshift shelter to another.

6. जहां जहां मैं ने सब इस्राएलियों के बीच आना जाना किया, क्या मैं ने इस्राएल के न्यायियों में से जिनको मैं ने अपनी प्रजा की चरवाही करने को ठहराया था, किसी से ऐसी बात कभी कहीं, कि तुम लोगों ने मेरे लिये देवदारू का घर क्यों नहीं बनवाया?

6. In all my travels with all Israel, did I ever say to any of the leaders I commanded to shepherd Israel, 'Why haven't you built me a house of cedar?'

7. सो अब तू मेरे दास दाऊद से ऐसा कह, कि सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मैं ने तो तुझ को भेड़शाला से और भेड़- बारियों के पीछे पीछे फिरने से इस मनसा से बुला लिया, कि तू मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल का प्रधान हो जाए;

7. 'So here is what you are to tell my servant David: The GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies has this word for you: I took you from the pasture, tagging after sheep, and made you prince over my people Israel.

8. और जहां कहीं तू आया और गया, वहां मैं तेरे संग रहा, और तेरे सब शत्रुओं को तेरे साम्हने से नष्ट किया है। अब मैं तेरे नाम को पृथ्वी के बड़े बड़े लोगों के नामो के समान बड़ा कर दूंगा।

8. I was with you everywhere you went and mowed your enemies down before you; and now I'm about to make you famous, ranked with the great names on earth.

10. उस समय भी जब मैं अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल के ऊपर न्यायी ठहराता था; सो मैं तेरे सब शत्रुओं को दबा दूंगा। फिर मैं तुझे यह भी बताता हूँ, कि यहोवा तेरा घर बनाये रखेगा।

10. even during the days I set judges over my people Israel. And finally, I'm going to conquer all your enemies. 'And now I'm telling you this: GOD himself will build you a house!

11. जब तेरी आयु पूरी हो जायेगी और तुझे अपने पितरों के संग जाना पड़ेगा, तब मैं तेरे बाद तेरे वंश को जो तेरे पुत्रों में से होगा, खड़ा करके उसके राज्य को स्थिर करूंगा।

11. When your life is complete and you're buried with your ancestors, then I'll raise up your child to succeed you, a child from your own body, and I'll firmly establish his rule.

12. मेरे लिए एक घर वही बनाएगा, और मैं उसकी राजगद्दी को सदैव स्थिर रखूंगा।

12. He will build a house to honor me, and I will guarantee his kingdom's rule forever.

13. मैं उसका पिता ठहरूंगा और वह मेरा पुत्रा ठहरेगा; और जैसे मैं ने अपनी करूणा उस पर से जो तुझ से पहिले था हटाई, वैसे मैं उस पर से न हटाऊंगा,
इब्रानियों 1:5

13. I'll be a father to him, and he'll be a son to me. I will never remove my gracious love from him as I did from the one who preceded you.

14. वरन मैं उसको अपने घर और अपने राज्य में सदैव स्थिर यखूंगा और उसकी राजगद्दी सदैव अटल रहेगी।

14. I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will always be there, rock solid.'

15. इन सब बातों और इस दर्शन के अनुसार नातान ने दाऊद को समझा दिया।

15. Nathan gave David a complete and accurate report of everything he heard and saw in the vision.

16. तब दाऊद राजा भीतर जाकर यहोवा के सम्मुख बैठा, और कहने लगा, हे यहोवा परमेश्वर ! मैं क्या हूँ? और मेरा घराना क्या है? कि तू ने मुझे यहां तक पहुंचाया है?

16. King David went in, took his place before GOD, and prayed: Who am I, my Master GOD, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life?

17. और हे परमेश्वर ! यह तेरी दृष्टि में छोटी सी बात हुई, क्योंकि तू ने अपने दास के घराने के विषय भविष्य के बहुत दिनों तक की चर्चा की है, और हे यहोवा परमेश्वर ! तू ने मुझे ऊंचे पद का मतुष्य सा जाना है।

17. But that's nothing compared to what's coming, for you've also spoken of my family far into the future, given me a glimpse into tomorrow and looked on me, Master GOD, as a Somebody.

18. जो महिमा तेरे दास पर दिखाई गई है, उसके विषय दाऊद तुझ से और क्या कह सकता है? तू तो अपने दास को जानता है।

18. What's left for David to say to this--to your honoring your servant, even though you know me, just as I am?

19. हे यहोवा ! तू ने अपने दास के निमित्त और अपने मन के अनुसार यह बड़ा काम किया है, कि तेरा दास उसको जान ले।

19. O GOD, out of the goodness of your heart, you've taken your servant to do this great thing and put your great work on display.

20. हे यहोवा ! जो कुछ हम ने अपने कानों से सुना है, उसके अनुसार तेरे तुल्य कोई नहीं, और न तुझे छोड़ और कोई परमेश्वर है।

20. There's none like you, GOD, no God but you, nothing to compare with what we've heard with our own ears.

21. फिर तेरी प्रजा इस्राएल के भी तुल्य कौन है? वह तो पृथ्वी भर में एक ही जाति है, उसे परमेश्वर ने जाकर अपनी निज प्रजा करने को छुड़ाया, इसलिये कि तू बड़े और डरावने काम करके अपना नाम करे, और अपनी प्रजा के साम्हने से जो तू ने मिस्र से छुड़ा ली थी, जाति जाति के लोगों को निकाल दे।

21. And who is like your people, like Israel, a nation unique on earth, whom God set out to redeem as his own people (and became most famous for it), performing great and fearsome acts, throwing out nations and their gods left and right as you saved your people from Egypt?

22. क्योंकि तू ने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल को अपनी सदा की प्रजा होने के लिये ठहराया, और हे यहोवा ! तू आप उसका परमेश्वर ठहरा।

22. You established for yourself a people--your very own Israel!--your people forever. And you, GOD, became their God.

23. इसलिये, अब हे यहोवा, तू ने जो वचन अपने दास के और उसके घराने के विषय दिया है, वह सदैव अटल रहे, और अपने वचन के अनुसार ही कर।

23. So now, great GOD, this word that you have spoken to me and my family, guarantee it forever! Do exactly what you've promised!

24. और तेरा नाम सदैव अटल रहे, और यह कहकर तेरी बड़ाई सदा की जाए, कि सेनाओं का यहोवा इस्राएल का परमेश्वर है, वरन वह इस्राएल ही के लिये परमेश्वर है, और तेरा दास दाऊद का घराना तेरे साम्हने स्थिर रहे।

24. Then your reputation will be confirmed and flourish always as people exclaim, 'The GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God over Israel, is Israel's God!' And the house of your servant David will remain rock solid under your watchful presence.

25. क्योंकि हे मेरे परमेश्वर, तू ने यह कहकर अपने दास पर प्रगट किया है कि मैं तेरा घर बनाए रखूंगा, इस कारण तेरे दास को तेरे सम्मुख प्रार्थना करने का हियाब हुआ है।

25. You, my God, have told me plainly, 'I will build you a house.' That's how I was able to find the courage to pray this prayer to you.

26. और अब हे यहोवा तू ही परमेश्वर है, और तू ने अपने दास को यह भलाई करने का वचन दिया है।

26. GOD, being the God you are, you have spoken all these wonderful words to me.

27. और अब तू ने प्रसन्न होकर, अपने दास के घराने पर ऐसी आशीष दी है, कि वह तेरे सम्मुख सदैव बना रहे, क्योंकि हे यहोवा, तू आशीष दे चुका है, इसलिये वह सदैव आशीषित बना रहे।

27. As if that weren't enough, you've blessed my family so that it will continue in your presence always. Because you have blessed it, GOD, it's really blessed--blessed for good!
