1. बाबुल और कसदियों के देश के विषय में यहोवा ने यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा यह वचन कहो

1. The words that the LORD spake unto the prophet Jeremy, concerning Babylon, and the land of the Caldees:

2. जातियों में बताओ, सुनाओ और झण्डा खड़ा करो; सुनाओ, मत छिपाओ कि बाबुल ले लिया गया, बेल का मुंह काला हो गया, मरोदक विस्मित हो गया। बाबुल की प्रतिमाएं लज्जित हुई और उसकी बेडौल मूरतें विस्मित हो गई।

2. preach among the Gentiles, let your voice be heard, make a token: cry out, keep no silence, but say Babylon shall be won, Bel shall be confounded, and Merodach shall be overcome. Yea their gods shall be brought to shame and their images shall stand in fear.

3. क्योंकि उत्तर दिशा से एक जाति उस पर चढ़ाई करके उसके देश को यहां तक उजाड़ कर देगी, कि क्या मनुष्य, क्या पशु, अस में कोई भी न रहेगा; सब भाग जाएंगे।

3. For out of the north there shall come a people against her, which shall make her land so waste, that no body shall dwell therein: neither man nor beast, for they shall flee and depart from thence.

4. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि उन दिनों में इस्राएली और यहूदा एक संग आएंगे, वे रोते हुए अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को ढूंढ़ने के लिये चले आएंगे।

4. In those days, and at that time, sayeth the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah, weeping and making haste, and shall seek the LORD their God.

5. वे सिरयोन की ओर मुंह किए हुए उसका मार्ग पूछते और आपस में यह कहते आएंगे, कि आओ हम यहोवा से मेल कर लें, उसके साथ ऐसी वाचा बान्धे जो कभी भूली न जाए, परन्तु सदा स्थिर रहे।

5. They shall ask the way to Sion, thither shall they turn their faces, and come and hang upon thee, in a covenant that never shall be broken.

6. मेरी प्रजा खोई हुई भेडें हैं; उनके चरवाहों ने उनको भटका दिया और पहाड़ों पर भटकाया है; वे पहाड़- पहाड़ और पहाड़ी- पहाड़ी घूमते- घूमते अपने बैठने के स्थान को भूल गई हैं।

6. My people hath been a lost flock, my shepherds have deceived them, and have made them go astray upon the hills. They have gone from the mountains to the little hill, and forgotten their fold.

7. जितनों ने उन्हें पाया वे उन्को खा गए; और उनके सतानेवालों ने कहा, इस में हमारा कुछ दोष नहीं, क्योंकि उन्हों ने यहोवा के विरूद्व पाप किया है जो धर्म का आधार है, और उनके पूर्वजों का आश्रय था।

7. All they that came upon them, have devoured them: and their enemies said: We have made no fault against them, for they have displeased the LORD, yea even the LORD which is the beauty of their righteousness, and that defended their fathers.

8. बाबुल के बीच में से भागो, कसदियों के देश से जैसे बकरे अपने झुण्ड के अगुवे होते हैं, वैसे ही निकल आओ।

8. Yet shall ye flee from Babylon, and depart out of the land of the Caldees, and ye shall be as the rams that go before the flock.

9. क्योंकि देखो, मैं उत्तर के देश से बड़ी जातियों को उभारकर उनकी मण्डली बाबुल पर चढ़ा ले आऊंगा, और वे उसके विरूद्व पांति बान्धेंगे; और उसी दिशा से वह ले लिया जाएगा। उनके तीर चतुर वीर के से होंगे; उन में से कोई अकारथ न जाएगा।

9. For lo, I will make up an host of people from the northern land, and bring them upon Babylon: these shall lay siege to it, and win it: Their arrows shall not miss, like as a cunning archer shooteth(shuteth) not wrong.

10. और कसदियों का देश ऐसा लुटेगा कि सब लूटनेवालों का पेट भर जाएगा, यहोवा की यह वाणी है।

10. And the Chaldees shall be spoiled, and all they that spoil them, shall be satisfied, sayeth the LORD.

11. हे मेरे भाग के लूटनेवालो, तुम जो मेरी प्रजा पर आनन्द करते और हुलसते हो, और घास चरनेवाली बछिया की नाई उछलते और बलवन्त घोड़ों के समान हिनहिनाते हो,

11. Because ye were so cheerful and glad, to tread down mine heritage, and fulfill your pleasures, as the calves in the grass: And triumphed over them like the bulls, when ye had gotten the victory.

12. तुम्हारी माता अत्यन्त लज्जित होगी और तुम्हारी जननी का मुंह काला होगा। क्योंकि वह सब जातियों में नीच होगी, वह जंगल और मरू और निर्जल देश हो जाएगी।

12. Your mothers shall be sore confounded, and they that bare you, shall come to shame. She shall be the least set by among the nations, void, waste, and dried up.

13. यहोवा के क्रोध के कारण, वह देश निर्जन रहेगा, वह उजाड़ ही उजाड़ होगा; जो कोई बाबुल के पास से चलेगा वह चकित होगा, और उसके सब दु:ख देखकर ताली बजाएगा।

13. No man shall be able to dwell there, for the fear of the LORD, but she shall be whole desolate. All they that go by Babylon, shall stand still, and be abashed, and shall wonder at all her plagues.

14. हे सब धनुर्धारियो, बाबुल के चारों ओर उसके विरूद्व पांति बान्धो; उस पर तीर चलाओ, उन्हें मत रख छोड़ो, क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा के विरूद्व पाप किया है।

14. Go forth in your array against Babylon round about, all ye that can handle bows: shoot at her, spare no arrows, for she hath sinned against the LORD.

15. चारों ओर से उस पर ललकारो, उस ने हार मानी; उसके कोट गिराए गए, उसकी शहरपनाह ढाई गई। क्ययोंकि यहोवा उस से अपना बदला लेने पर है; सो तुम भी उस से अपना अपना बदला लो, जैसा उस ने किया है, वैसा ही तुम भी उस से करो।

15. Cry out: upon her, upon her, against her round about: she shall yield herself, her foundations shall fall, and her walls shall come down, for it shall be the vengeance of the LORD. Yea vengeance shall be taken of her, and as she hath done, so shall she be dealt withal.

16. बाबुल में से बोनेवाले और काटनेवाले दोनों को नाश करो, वे दुखदाई तलवार के डर के मारे अपने अपने लोगों को ओर फिरें, और अपने अपने देश की भाग जाएं।

16. They shall root out the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in Harvest. For fear of the sword of the enemy, every man shall get him to his own people, and every man shall flee to his own land.

17. इस्राएल भगाई हुई भेड़ है, सिंहों ने उसको भगा दिया है। पहिले तो अश्शूर के राजा ने उसको खा डाला, और तब बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर ने उसकी हडि्डयों को तोड़ दिया है।

17. Israel is a scattered flock, the Lions have dispersed them. First the king of the Assyrians devoured them, last of all this Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon hath bruised all their bones.

18. इस कारण इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, देखो, जैसे मैं ने अश्शूर के राजा को दण्ड दिया था, वैसे ही अब देश समेत बाबुल के राजा को दण्ड दूंगा।

18. Therefore thus sayeth the LORD of Hosts the God of Israel: Behold, I will visit the king of Babylon and his kingdom, as I have visited the king of the Assyrians.

19. मैं इस्राएल को उसकी चराई में लौटा लाऊंगा, और वह कमल और बाशान में फिर चरेगा, और एप्रैम के पहाड़ों पर और गिलाद में फिर भर पेट खाने पाएगा।

19. And will bring Israel again to his pleasant pasture, that he may feed upon Carmel and Bashan, and be satisfied upon the mount of Ephraim and Gilead.

20. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि उन दिनों में इस्राएल का अधर्म ढूंढ़ने पर भी नहीं मिलेगा, और यहूदा के पाप खोजने पर भी नहीं मिलेंगे; क्योंकि जिन्हें मैं बचाऊं, उनके पाप भी क्षमा कर दूंगा।

20. In those days and at the same time (sayeth the LORD) if the offense of Israel be sought for, there shall none be found: If men enquire for the sin of Judah, there shall be none: for I will be merciful unto them, whom I suffer to remain over.

21. तू मरातैम देश और पकोद नगर के निवासियों पर चढ़ाई कर। मनुष्यों को तो मार डाल, और धन का सत्यानाश कर; यहोवा की यह वाणी है, और जो जो आज्ञा मैं तुझे देता हूँ, उन सभों के अनुसार कर।

21. Go down (O thou avenger) in to the enemies land, and visit them that dwell therein: down with them, and smite them upon the backs, sayeth the LORD: do according to all, that I have commanded thee.

22. सुनो, उस देश में युद्व और सत्यानाश का सा शब्द हो रहा है।

22. There is gone about the land a cry of a slaughter and great murder, namely on this manner:

23. जो हथौड़ा सारी पृथ्वी के लोगों को चूर चूर करता था, वह कैसा काट डाला गया है ! बाबुल सब जातियों के बीच में कैसा उजाड़ हो गया है!

23. How happeneth it, that the hammer of the whole world is thus broken and bruised in sunder? How chanceth it, that Babylon is become a wilderness among the Heathen on this manner?

24. हे बाबुल, मैं ने तेरे लिये फन्दा लगाया, और तू अनजाने उस में फँस भी गया; तू ढूंढ़कर पकड़ा गया है, क्योंकि तू यहोवा का विरोध करता था।

24. I myself have laid wait for thee, and thou art taken: unawares art thou trapped and snared: for why, thou hast provoked the LORD unto anger:

25. प्रभु, सेनाओं के यहोवा ने अपने शस्त्रों का घर खोलकर, अपने क्रोध प्रगट करने का सामान निकाला है; क्योंकि सेनाओं के प्रभु यहोवा को कसदियों के देश में एक काम करना है।
रोमियों 9:22

25. The LORD hath opened his house of ordinance, and brought forth the weapons of his wrath. For the thing that is done in the land of the Caldees, it is the LORD of Hosts' work.

26. पृथ्वी की छोर से आओ, और उसकी बखरियों को खोलो; उसको ढेर ही ढेर बना दो; ऐसा सत्यानाश करो कि उस में कुछ भी न बचा रहें।

26. These things shall come upon her at the last, they shall break into her privy chambers, they shall leave her as bare as stones, that be laid together upon heaps. They shall so destroy her, that nothing shall be left.

27. उसके सब बैलों को नाश करो, वे घात होने के स्थान में उतर जाएं। उन पर हाय ! क्योंकि उनके दण्ड पाने का दिन आ पहुंचा है।

27. They shall slay all her mighty soldiers, and put them to death. Woe be unto them, for the day and the time of their visitation is at hand.

28. सुनो, बाबुल के देश में से भागनेवालों का सा बोल सुनाई पड़ता है जो सिरयोन में यह समाचार देने को दौड़े आते हैं, कि हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा अपने मन्दिर का बदला ले रहा है।

28. Me think I hear all ready a cry, of them that be fled and escaped out of the land of Babylon, which shew in Sion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple: Yea a voice of them, that cry against Babylon:

29. सब धनुर्धारियों को बाबुल के विरूद्व इकट्ठे करो, उसके चारों ओर छावनी डालो, कोई जन भागकर निकलने न पाए। उसके काम का बदला उसे देओ, जैसा उस ने किया है, ठीक वैसा ही उसके साथ करो; क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा इस्राएल के पवित्रा के विरूद्व अभिमान किया है।

29. Call up all the archers against Babylon, pitch your tents round about her, that none escape. Recompense her, as she hath deserved: and according as she hath done, so deal with her again: for she hath set up herself against the LORD, against the holy one of Israel.

30. इस कारण उसके जवान चौकों में गिराए जाएंगे, और सब योद्वाओं का बोल बन्द हो जाएगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

30. Therefore shall her young men fall down in the streets, and all her men of war shall be rooted out in that day, sayeth the LORD.

31. प्रभु सेनाओं के यहोवा की यह वाणी है, हे अभिमानी, मैं तेरे विरूद्व हूँ; तेरे दण्ड पाने का दिन आ गया है।

31. Behold, I speak unto thee (O thou proud) sayeth the Lord GOD(LORDE God) of Hosts: for thy day shall come, even the time of thy visitation.

32. अभिमानी ठोकर खाकर गिरेगा ओर कोई उसे फिर न उठाएगा; और मैं उसके नगरों में आग लगाऊंगा जिस से उसके चारों ओर सब कुछ भस्म हो जाएगा।

32. And the proud shall stumble and fall, and no man shall help him up. I will burn up his cities with fire, and it shall consume all that is round about him.

33. सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, इस्राएल और यहूदा दोनों बराबर पिसे हुए हैं; और जितनों ने उनको बंधुआ किया वे उन्हें पकड़े रहते हैं, और जाने नहीं देते।

33. Thus sayeth the LORD of Hosts: The children of Israel and Judah suffer violence together. All they that have them in captivity, keep them fast, and will not let them go:

34. उनका छुड़ानेवाला सामथ है; सेनाओं का यहोवा, यही उसका नाम हे। वह उनका मुक़ मा भली भांति लड़ेगा कि पृथ्वी को चैन दे परन्तु बाबुल के निवासियों को व्याकुल करे।

34. but their avenger and redeemer is mighty, whose name is the LORD of Hosts: he shall maintain their cause, he shall make the land shake, and judge them that dwell therein, one with another.

35. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कसदियों और बाबुल के हाकिम, पण्डित आदि सब निवासियों पर तलवार चलेगी !

35. The sword shall come upon the Caldees, sayeth the LORD, upon them that dwell in Babylon, upon their princes, and upon their wise men:

36. बड़ा बोल बोलनेवालों पर तलवार चलेगी, और वे मूर्ख बनेंगे ! उसके शूरवीरों पर भी तलवार चलेगी, और वे विस्मित हो जाएंगे !

36. The sword upon their soothsayers, as for those (they shall become fools) The sword upon their worthies, so that they shall stand in fear:

37. उसके सवारों और रथियों पर और सब मिले जुले लोगों पर भी तलवार चलेगी, और वे स्त्रियें बन जाएंगे ! उसके भण्ड़ारों पर तलवार चलेगी, और वे लुट जाएंगे !

37. The sword upon their horsemen and chariots, and upon all the common people that dwell under them: so that they all shall become like women: The sword upon their treasure, so that it shall be stolen away:

38. उसके जलाशयों पर सूखा पड़ेगा, और वे सूख जाएंगे ! क्योंकि वह खुदी हुई मूरतों से भरा हुआ देश है, और वे अपनी भयानक प्रतिमाओं पर बावले हैं।

38. The sword upon their waters, so that they shall be dried up: For the land worshippeth images, and delighteth in strange wonderful things.

39. इसलिये निर्जल देश के जन्तु सियारों के संग मिलकर वहां बसेंगे, और शुतुर्मुर्ग उस में वास करेंगे, और वह फिर सदा तक बसाया न जाएगा, न युग युग उस में कोई वास कर सकेगा।

39. Therefore shall wild beasts, Apes, and Ostriches dwell therein: for there shall never man dwell there, neither shall any man have his habitation there for evermore.

40. यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि सदोम और अमोरा और उनके आस पास के नगरों की जैसी दशा उस समय हुई थी जब परमेश्वरने उनको उलट दिया था, वैसी ही दशा बाबुल की भी होगी, यहां तक कि कोई मनुष्य उस में न रह सकेगा, और न कोई आदमी उस में टिकेगा।

40. Like as God destroyed Sodome and Gomorre, with the cities that lay there about, sayeth the LORD: So shall no man dwell there also, neither shall any man have there his habitation.

41. सुनो, उत्तर दिशा से एक देश के लोग आते हैं, और पृथ्वी की छोर से एक बड़ी जाति और बहुत से राजा उठकर चढ़ाई करेंगे।

41. Behold, there shall come a people from the North, with a great bound of men, and many kings shall stand up from the ends of the earth:

42. वे धनुष और बछ पकड़े हुए हैं; वे क्रूर और निर्दय हैं; वे समुद्र की नाई गरजेंगे; और घोड़ों पर चढ़े हुए तुझ बाबुल की बेटी के विरूद्व पांति बान्धे हुए युद्वा करनेवालों की नाई आएंगे।

42. They bear bows and bucklers, cruel are they and unmerciful. Their voice roareth like the raging sea, they ride upon horses, and come weaponed to fight against thee: O Babylon.

43. उनका समाचार सुनते ही बाबुल के राजा के हाथ पांव ढीले पड़ गए, और उसको ज़च्चा की सी पीड़ें उठीं।

43. As soon as the king of Babylon heareth tell of them, his hands shall wax feeble: Sorrow and heaviness shall come upon him, as a woman travailing with child.

44. सुनो, वह सिंह की नाई आएगा जो यरदन के आस पास के घने जंगल से निकलकर दृढ़ भेड़शाले पर चढ़े, परन्तु मैं उनको उसके साम्हने से झट भगा दूंगा; तब जिसको मैं चुन लूं, उसी को उन पर अधिकारी ठहराऊंगा। देखो, मेरे तुल्य कौन हे? कौन मुझ पर मुक़ मा चलाएगा? वह चरवाहा कहां है जो मेरा साम्हना कर सकेगा?

44. Behold, like as the Lion cometh up from the pleasant meadows of Jordan unto the green pastures of Ethan, so will I drive them forth, and make them run against her. But whom shall I choose out, and ordain to such a thing? For who is like me, or who will strive with me? or what shepherd may stand against me?

45. सो सुनो कि यहोवा ने बाबुल के विरूद्व क्या युक्ति की है और कसदियों के देश के विरूद्व कौन सी कल्पना की हैे निश्चय वह भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों को घसीट ले जाएगा, निश्चय वह उनकी चराइयों को भेड़- बकरियों से खाली कर देगा।

45. Therefore hear the counsel that the LORD hath given upon Babylon, and the device that he hath taken upon the land of the Caldees. The least among the people shall tear them in pieces, and look what pleasant thing they have: they shall lay it waste.

46. बाबुल के लूट लिए जाने के शब्द से पृथ्वी कांप उठी है, और उसकी चिल्लाहट जातियों में सुनाई पड़ती है।

46. The noise at the winning of Babylon shall move the earth, and the cry shall be heard among the Gentiles.
