2. 'Speak kind words to Jerusalem. Call out to her that her time of war has ended, that her sin has been taken away, and that she has received from the Lord's hand twice as much for all her sins.'

3. A voice is calling, 'Make the way ready for the Lord in the desert. Make the road in the desert straight for our God.

4. हर एक तराई भर दी जाए और हर एक पहाड़ और पहाड़ी गिरा दी जाए; जो टेढ़ा है वह सीधा और जो ऊंचा नीचा है वह चौरस किया जाए।

4. Every valley will be lifted up and every mountain and hill will be brought down. The turns in the road will be made straight and the bad places will be made smooth.

5. Then the shining-greatness of the Lord will be seen. All flesh together will see it, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.'

6. A voice says, 'Cry.' And he said, 'What should I cry?' All flesh is grass. All its beauty is like the flower of the field.

7. The grass dries up and the flower loses its color when the breath of the Lord blows upon it. For sure the people are grass.

8. घास तो सूख जाती, और फूल मुर्झा जाता है; परन्तु हमारे परमेश्वर का वचन सदैव अटल रहेगा।।

8. The grass dries up. The flower loses its color. But the Word of our God stands forever.

9. O Zion, you who bring good news, go up on the high mountain! Lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, you who bring good news. Lift it up, do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, 'Here is your God!'

10. See, the Lord God will come with power, and His arm will rule for Him. See, He is bringing the pay He will give to everyone for what he has done.

11. He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in His arms and carry them close to His heart. He will be gentle in leading those that are with young.

12. किस ने महासागर को चुल्लू से मापा और किस के बित्ते से आकाश का नाप हुआ, किस ने पृथ्वी की मिट्टी को नपवे में भरा और पहाड़ों को तराजू में और पहाड़ियों को कांटे में तौला है?

12. Who knows how much water is in His hand? Who has used his hand to know how far the heavens reach? Who knows what the dust of the earth would fill? Who has weighed the mountains and the hills?

13. Who has led the Spirit of the Lord? Who has taught Him words of wisdom?

14. उस ने किस से सम्मति ली और किस ने उसे समझाकर न्याय का पथ बता दिया और ज्ञान सिखाकर बुद्धि का मार्ग जता दिया है?

14. From whom did He ask for wisdom, and who gave Him understanding? Who taught Him the right way, and taught Him much learning? Who showed Him the way of understanding?

15. देखो, जातियां तो डोल की एक बून्द वा पलड़ों पर की धूलि के तुल्य ठहरीं; देखो, वह द्वीपों को धूलि के किनकों सरीखे उठाता है।

15. See, the nations are like a drop in a pail. Their weight is like a little piece of dust. See, He lifts up the islands like fine dust.

16. लबानोन की ईधन के लिये थोड़ा होगा और उस में के जीव- जन्तु होमबलि के लिये बस न होंगे।

16. Even Lebanon is not enough to burn. Its animals are not enough for a burnt gift in worship.

17. सारी जातियां उसके साम्हने कुछ नहीं हैं, वे उसकी दृष्टि में लेश और शून्य से भी घट ठहरीं हैं।।

17. All the nations are as nothing before Him. He thinks of them as less than nothing and of no worth.

18. To Whom then is God like? What will you compare Him with?

19. मूरत! कारीगर ढालता है, सोनार उसको सोने से मढ़ता और उसके लिये चान्दी की सांकलें ढालकर बनाता है।

19. An able workman makes a false god. A man who works with gold covers it with gold. And a man who works with silver makes silver chains for it.

20. जो कंगाल इतना अर्पण नहीं कर सकता, वह ऐसा वृक्ष चुन लेता है जो न घुने; तब एक निपुण कारीगर ढूंढकर मूरत खुदवाता और उसे ऐसा स्थिर कराता है कि वह हिल न सके।।

20. He who is too poor to give such a gift, picks out a tree that will not waste away. He finds an able workman to set up a false god that will not be moved.

21. क्या तुम नहीं जानते? क्या तुम ने नहीं सुना? क्या तुम को आरम्भ ही से नहीं बताया गया? क्या तुम ने पृथ्वी की नेव पड़ने के समय ही से विचार नहीं किया?

21. Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the beginning of the earth?

22. यह वह है जो पृथ्वी के घेरे के ऊपर आकाशमण्डल पर विराजमान है; और पृथ्वी के रहनेवाले टिड्डी के तुल्य है; जो आकाश को मलमल की नाईं फैलाता और ऐसा तान देता है जैसा रहने के लिये तम्बू ताना जाता है;

22. It is God Who sits on the throne above the earth. The people living on the earth are like grasshoppers. He spreads out the heavens like a curtain. He spreads them out like a tent to live in.

23. जो बड़े बड़े हाकिमों को तुच्छ कर देता है, और पृथ्वी के अधिकारियों को शून्य के समान कर देता है।।

23. It is He Who brings rulers down to nothing. He makes the judges of the earth as nothing.

24. वे रोपे ही जाते, वे बोए ही जाते, उनके ठूंठ भूमि में जड़ ही पकड़ पाते कि वह उन पर पवन बहाता और वे सूख जाते, और आंधी उन्हें भूसे की नाई उड़ा ले जाती है।।

24. They have just been planted, and have begun to take root in the earth. But He only blows on them and they dry up, and the storm carries them away like dry grass.

25. सो तुम मुझे किस के समान बताओगे कि मैं उसके तुल्य ठहरूं? उस पवित्रा का यही वचन है।

25. 'To whom will you compare Me, that I should be like him?' says the Holy One.

26. अपनी आंखें ऊपर उठाकर देखो, किस ने इनको सिरजा? वह इन गणों को गिन गिनकर निकालता, उन सब को नाम ले लेकर बुलाता है? वह ऐसा सामर्थी और अत्यन्त बली है कि उन में के कोई बिना आए नहीं रहता।।

26. Lift up your eyes and see. Who has made these stars? It is the One Who leads them out by number. He calls them all by name. Because of the greatness of His strength, and because He is strong in power, not one of them is missing.

27. हे याकूब, तू क्यों कहता है, हे इस्राएल तू क्यों बोलता है, मेरा मार्ग यहोवा के छिपा हुआ है, मेरा परमेश्वर मेरे न्याय की कुछ चिन्ता नहीं करता?

27. O Jacob and Israel, why do you say, 'My way is hidden from the Lord. My God does not think about my cause'?

28. क्या तुम नहीं जानते? क्या तुम ने नहीं सुना? यहोवा जो सनातन परमेश्वर और पृथ्वी भर का सिरजनहार है, वह न थकता, न श्रमित होता है, उसकी बुद्धि अगम है।

28. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The God Who lives forever is the Lord, the One Who made the ends of the earth. He will not become weak or tired. His understanding is too great for us to begin to know.

29. वह थके हुए को बल देता है और शक्तिहीन को बहुत सामर्थ देता है।

29. He gives strength to the weak. And He gives power to him who has little strength.

30. तरूण तो थकते और श्रमित हो जाते हैं, और जवान ठोकर खाकर गिरते हैं;

30. Even very young men get tired and become weak and strong young men trip and fall.

31. परन्तु जो यहोवा की बाट जोहते हैं, वे नया बल प्राप्त करते जाएंगे, वे उकाबों की नाई उड़ेंगे, वे दौड़ेंगे और श्रमित न होंगे, चलेंगे और थकित न होंगे।।

31. But they who wait upon the Lord will get new strength. They will rise up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weak.
