1. एला के पुत्रा इस्राएल के राजा होशे के तीसरे वर्ष में यहूदा के राजा आहाज का पुत्रा हिजकिरयाह राजा हुआ।

1. In the thridde yeer of Osee, sone of Hela, kyng of Israel, regnyde Ezechie, sone of Achaz, kyng of Juda.

2. जब वह राज्य करने लगा तब पच्चीस वर्ष का था, और उनतीस वर्ष तक यरूशलेम में राज्य करता रहा। और उसकी माता का नाम अबी था, जो जकर्याह की बेटी थी।

2. He was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde in Jerusalem nyne and twenti yeer; the name of his modir was Abisa, douyter of Zacharie.

3. जैसे उसके मूलपुरूष दाऊद ने किया था जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में ठीक है वैसा ही उस ने भी किया।

3. And he dide that, that was good bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis, which Dauid, his fadir, hadde do.

4. उस ने ऊंचे स्थान गिरा दिए, लाठों को तोड़ दिया, अशेरा को काट डाला। और पीतल का जो सांप मूसा ने बनाया था, उसको उस ने इस कारण चूर चूर कर दिया, कि उन दिनों तक इस्राएली उसके लिये धूप जलाते थे; और उस ने उसका नाम नहुशतान रखा।

4. And he distriede hiye places, and al to-brak ymagis, and kittide doun wodis, and he brak the brasun serpent, whom Moyses hadde maad; for `til to that tyme the sones of Israel brenten encense to it; and he clepide the name therof Noestam.

5. वह इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा पर भरोसा रखता था, और उसके बाद यहूदा के सब राजाओं में कोई उसके बराबर न हुआ, और न उस से पहिले भी ऐसा कोई हुआ था।

5. And he hopide in the Lord God of Israel; therfor aftir hym noon was lijk hym of alle the kyngis of Juda, but `and nether in tho kyngis that weren bifor hym.

6. और वह यहोवा से लिपटा रहा और उसके पीछे चलना न छोड़ा; और जो आज्ञाएं यहोवा ने मूसा को दी थीं, उनका वह पालन करता रहा।

6. And he cleuyde to the Lord, and yede not awei fro hise steppis, and he dide the comaundementis of the Lord, whiche the Lord comaundide to Moises;

7. इसलिये यहोवा उसके संग रहा; और जहां कहीं वह जाता था, वहां उसका काम सफल होता था। और उस ने अश्शूर के राजा से बलवा करके, उसकी अधीनता छोड़ दी।

7. wherfor and the Lord was with hym, and he gouernede wiseli hym silf in alle thingis, to whiche he yede forth. Also he rebellide ayens the kyng of Assiriens, and therfor he seruede not to `that kyng of Asseriens;

8. उस ने पलिश्तियों को गाज्ज़ा और उसके सिवानों तक, पहरूओं के गुम्मट और गढ़वाले नगर तक मारा।

8. and he smoot Philisteis `til to Gazam, and alle the termes of hem, fro the tour of keperis `til to a citee maad strong.

9. राजा हिजकिरयाह के चौथे वर्ष में जो एला के पुत्रा इस्राएल के राजा होशे का सातवां वर्ष था, अश्शूर के राजा शल्मनेसेर ने शोमरोन पर चढ़ाई करके उसे घेर लिया।

9. In the fourthe yeer of kyng Ezechie, that was the seuenthe yeer of Osee, sone of Hela, kyng of Israel, Salmanazar, kyng of Assiriens, stiede to Samarie,

10. और तीन वर्ष के बीतने पर उन्हों ने उसको ले लिया। इस प्रकार हिजकिरयाह के छठवें वर्ष में जो इस्राएल के राजा होशे का नौवां वर्ष था, शोमरोन ले लिया गया।

10. and fauyt ayens it, and took it. For after thre yeer, in the sixte yeer of Ezechie, that is, in the nynthe yeer of Osee, kyng of Israel, Samarie was takun;

11. तब अश्शूर का राजा इस्राएल को बन्धुआ करके अश्शूर में ले गया, और हलह में ओर गोजान की नदी हाबोर के पास और मादियों के नगरों में उसे बसा दिया।

11. and the kyng of Assiriens translatide Israel in to Assiriens, and settyde hem in Haila, and in Habor, ryueris of Gozam, in the citees of Medeis;

12. इसका कारण यह था, कि उन्हों ने अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की बात न मानी, वरन उसकी वाचा को तोड़ा, और जितनी आज्ञाएं यहोवा के दास मूसा ने दी थीं, उनको टाल दिया और न उनको सुना और न उनके अनुसार किया।

12. for thei herden not the vois of her Lord God, but thei braken his couenaunt; thei herden not, nether diden alle thingis, whiche Moises, the seruaunt of the Lord, comaundide.

13. हिजकिरयाह राजा के चौदहवें वर्ष में अश्शूर के राजा सन्हेरीब ने यहूदा के सब गढ़वाले नगरों पर चढ़ाई करके उनको ले लिया।

13. In the fourtenthe yeer of kyng Ezechie, Senacherub, kyng of Assiryens, stiede to alle the strengthide citees of Juda, and took tho.

14. तब यहूदा के राजा हिजकिरयाह ने अश्शूर के राजा के पास लाकीश को कहला भेजा, कि मुझ से अपराध हुआ, मेरे पास से लौट जा; और जो भर तू मुझ पर डालेगा उसको मैं उठाऊंगा। तो अश्शूर के राज ने यहूदा के राजा हिजकिरयाह के लिये तीन सौ किक्कार चान्दी और तीस किक्कार लोना ठहरा दिया।

14. Thanne Ezechie, kyng of Juda, sente messangeris to the kyng of Assiriens in to Lachis, and seide, Y haue synned; go awei fro me, and Y schal bere `al thing, which thou schalt putte to me. Therfor the kyng of Asseriens puttide on Ezechie, kyng of Juda, thre hundrid talentis of siluer, and thretti talentis of gold.

15. तब जितनी चान्दी यहोवा के भवन और राजभवन के भणडारों में मिली, उस सब को हिजकिरयाह ने उसे दे दिया।

15. And Ezechie yaf al the siluer, that was foundun in the hows of the Lord, and in the kyngis tresories.

16. उस समय हिजकिरयाह ने यहोवा के मन्दिर के किवाड़ों से और उन खम्भों से भी जिन पर यहूदा के राजा हिजकिरयाह ने सोना मढ़ा था, सोने को छीलकर अश्शूर के राजा को दे दिया।

16. In that tyme Ezechie brak the yatis of the temple of the Lord, and the platis of gold, whiche he hadde fastned, and he yaf tho to the kyng of Assiriens.

17. तौभी अश्शूर के राजा ने तर्त्तान, रबसारीस और रबशाके को बड़ी सेना देकर, लाकीश से यरूशलेम के पास हिजकिरयाह राजा के विरूद्ध भेज दिया। सो वे यरूशलेम को गए और वहां पहुंचकर ऊपर के पोखरे की नाली के पास धेबियों के खेत की सड़क पर जाकर खड़े हुए।

17. Forsothe the kyng of Assiriens sente Thercha and Rabsaces fro Lachis to kyng Ezechie, with strong hond to Jerusalem; and whanne thei hadden stied, thei camen to Jerusalem, and stoden bisidis the water cundijt of the hiyere cisterne, which is in the weie of the fullere, `ethir toukere.

18. और जब उन्हों ने राजा को पुकारा, तब हिलकिरयाह का पुत्रा एल्याकीम जो राजघराने के काम पर था, और शेब्ना जो मन्त्री था और आसाप का पुत्रा योआह जो इतिहास का लिखनेवाला था, ये तीनों उनके पास बाहर निकल गए।

18. And thei clepiden the kyng; sotheli Eliachym, sone of Elchie, the souereyn of the hows, and Sobna, scryueyn, and Joahe, chaunseler, the sone of Asaph, yeden out to hem.

19. रबशाके ने उन से कहा, हिजकिरयाह से कहो, कि महाराजाधिराज अर्थात् अश्शूर का राजा यों कहता है, कि तू किस पर भरोसा करता है?

19. And Rabsaces seide to hem, Speke ye to Ezechie, The grete kyng, the kyng of Assiriens, seith these thingis, What is this trist, in which thou enforsist?

20. तू जो कहता है, कि मेरे यहां युठ्ठ के लिये युक्ति और पराक्रम है, सो तो केवल बात ही बात है। तू किस पर भरोसा रखता है कि तू ने मुझ से बलवा किया है?

20. In hap thou hast take counsel, that thou woldist make thee redi to batel. In whom tristist thou, that thou be hardi to rebelle?

21. सुन, तू तो उस कुचले हुए नरकट अर्थात् मिस्र पर भरोसा रखता है, उस पर यदि कोई टेक लगाए, तो वह उसके हाथ में चुभकर छेदेगा। मिस्र का राजा फ़िरौन अपने सब भरोसा रखनेवालों के लिये ऐसा ही है।

21. Whethir thou hopist in a `staf of rehed and brokun, Egipt, on which, if a man lenith, it schal be brokun, and schal entre in to hys hond, and schal peerse it? So is Farao, kyng of Egipt, to alle men that tristen on hym.

22. फिर यदि तुम मुझ से कहो, कि हमारा भरोसा अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा पर है, तो क्या यह वही नहीं है जिसके ऊंचे स्थानों और वेदियों को हिजकिरयाह ने दूर करके यहूदा और यरूशलेम से कहा, कि तुम इसी वेदी के साम्हने जो यरूशलेम में है दणडवत करना?

22. That if thou seist to me, We han trist in `oure Lord God; whether this is not he, whos hiye thingis and auteris Ezechie took awei, and comaundide to Juda and to Jerusalem, Ye schulen worschipe bifor this auter in Jerusalem?

23. तो अब मेरे स्वामी अश्शूर के राजा के पास मुछ बन्धक रख, तब मैं तुझे दो हाजार घोड़े दूंगा, क्या तू उन पर सवार चढ़ा सकेगा कि नहीं?

23. Now therfor passe ye to my lord, the kyng of Assiriens, and Y schal yyue to you twei thousynde of horsis, and se ye, whether ye moun haue rideris of `tho horsis?

24. फिर तू मेरे स्वामी के छोटे से छोटे कर्मचारी का भी कहा न मान कर क्यों रथों और सवारों के लिये मिस्र पर भरोसा रखता है?

24. And hou moun ye withstonde bifor o prince of the leste seruauntis of my lord? Whether thou hast trist in Egipt, for charis and knyytis?

25. क्या मैं ने यहोवा के बिना कहे, इस स्थान को उजाड़ने के लिये चढ़ाई की है? यहोवा ने मुझ से कहा है, कि उस देश पर चढ़ाई करके उसे उजाड़ दे।

25. Whether Y stiede with outen `Goddis wille to this place, that Y schulde distrie it? `The Lord seide to me, `Stie thou to this lond, and distrie thou it.

26. तब हिलकिरयाह के पुत्रा एल्याकीम और शेब्ना योआह ने रबशाके से कहा, अपने दासों से अरामी भाषा में बातें कर, क्योंकि हम उसे समझते हैं; और हम से यहूदी भाषा में शहरपनाह पर बैठे हुए लोगों के सुनते बातें न कर।

26. Forsothe Eliachym, sone of Elchie, and Sobna, and Joahe, seiden to Rabsaces, We preien, that thou speke bi the langage of Sirie to vs, thi seruauntis; for we vndirstondun this langage; and that thou speke not to vs bi the langage of Juwis, while the puple herith, which is on the wal.

27. रबशाके ने उन से कहा, क्या मेरे स्वामी ने मुझे तुम्हारे स्वामी ही के, वा तुम्हारे ही पास ये बातें कहने को भेजा है? क्या उस ने मुझे उन लोगों के पास नहीं भेजा, जो शहरपनाह पर बैठे हैं, ताकि नुम्हारे संग उनको भी अपनी बिष्ठा खाना और अपना मूत्रा पीना पड़े?

27. And Rabsaces answeride, `and seide, Whethir my lord sente me to thi lord and to thee, that Y schulde speke these wordis, and not rather to the men `that sitten on the wal, that thei ete her toordis, and drynke her pisse with you?

28. तब रबशाके ने खड़े हो, यहूदी भाषा में ऊंचे शब्द से कहा, महाराजाधिराज अर्थत् अश्शूर के राजा की बात सुनो।

28. Therfor Rabsaces stood, and criede with greet vois bi langage of Jewis, and seide, Here ye the wordis of the greet kyng, the kyng of Assiriens.

29. राजा यों कहता है, कि हिजकिरयाह तुम को भुलाने न पाए, क्योंकि वह तुम्हें मेरे हाथ से बचा न सकेगा।

29. The kyng seith these thingis, Ezechie disceyue not you, for he may not delyuere you fro myn hond;

30. और वह तुम से यह कहकर यहोवा पर भरोसा कराने न पाए, कि यहोवा निश्चय हम को बचाएगा और यह नगर अश्शूर के राजा के वश में न पड़ेगा।

30. nether yyue he trist to you on the Lord, and seie, The Lord delyuerynge schal delyuere vs, and this citee shal not be bitakun in the hond of the kyng of Assiriens;

31. हिजकिरयाह की मत सुनो। अश्शूर का राजा कहता है कि भेंट भेजकर मुझे प्रसन्न करो और मेरे पास निकल आओ, और प्रत्येक अपनी अपनी दाखलता और अंजीर के वृक्ष के फल खाता और अपने अपने कुण्ड का पानी पीता रहे।

31. nyle ye here Ezechie. For the kyng of Assiriens seith these thingis, Do ye with me that, that is profitable to you, and go ye out to me; and eche man schal ete of his vyner, and of his fige tree, and ye schulen drynke watris of youre cisternes,

32. तब मैं आकर तुम को ऐसे देश में ले जाऊंगा, जो तुम्हारे देश के समान अनाज और नये दाखमधु का देश, रोटी और दाख्बारियों का देश, जलपाइयों और मधु का देश है, वहां तुम मरोगे नहीं, जीवित रहोगे; तो जब हिजकिरयाह यह कहकर तुम को बहकाए, कि यहोवा हम को बचाएगा, तब उसकी न सुनना।

32. til Y come, and translate you in to a lond which is lijk youre lond, in to a fruytful lond, and plenteuouse of wyn, a lond of breed, and of vineris, a lond of olyue trees, and of oile, and of hony; and ye schulen lyue, and ye schulen not die. Nyle ye here Ezechie, that disseyueth you, and seith, The Lord schal delyuere yow.

33. क्या और जातियों के देवताओं ने अपने अपने देश को अश्शूर के राजा के हाथ से कभी बचाया है?

33. Whether the goddis of hethene men delyueriden her lond fro the hond of the kyng of Assiriens?

34. हमात और अर्पाद के देवता कहां रहे? सपवैंम, हेना और इरवा के देवता कहां रहे? क्या उन्हों ने शोमरोन को मेरे हाथ से बचाया है,

34. Where is god of Emath, and of Arphat? Where is god of Sapharuaym, of Ana, and of Aua? Whether thei delyueriden Samarie fro myn hond?

35. देश देश के सब देवताओं में से ऐसा कौन है, जिस ने अपने देश को मेरे हाथ से बचाया हो? फिर क्या यहोवा यरूशलेम को मेरे हाथ से बचाएगा।

35. For who ben thei in alle goddis of londis, that delyueriden her cuntrey fro myn hond, that the Lord may delyuere Jerusalem fro myn hoond?

36. परन्तु सब लोग चुप रहे और उसके उत्तर में एक बात भी न कही, क्योंकि राजा की ऐसी आज्ञा थी, कि उसको उत्तर न देना।

36. Therfor the puple was stille, and answeride not ony thing to hym; for thei hadden take comaundement of the kyng, that thei schulden not answere to hym.

37. तब हिलकिरयाह का पुत्रा एल्याकीम जो राजघराने के काम पर था, और शेब्ना जो मन्त्री था, और आसाप का पुत्रा योआह जो इतिहास का लिखनेवाला था, अपने वस्त्रा फाड़े हुए, हिजकिरयाह के पास जाकर रबशाके की बातें कह सुनाई।

37. And Eliachym, sone of Elchie, the souereyn of the hows, and Sobna, scryuen, and Joahe, chaunceler, the sone of Asaph, camen with to-rent clothis to Ezechie; and telden to hym the wordis of Rabsaces.
