1. जब राजा अपने भवन में रहता था, और यहोवा ने उसको उसके चारों ओर के सब शत्रुऔं से विश्राम दिया था,

1. And it came to pass, when the king had taken up his abode in his house, and Yahweh had given him rest round about, from all his enemies,

2. तब राजा नातान नाम भविष्यद्वक्ता से कहने लगा, देख, मैं तो देवदारू के बने हुए घर में रहता हूँ, परन्तु परमेश्वर का सन्दूक तम्बू में रहता है।
प्रेरितों के काम 7:45-46

2. that the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See, I pray thee I, have my abode in a house, of cedar, but, the ark of God, abideth in, the midst, of curtains.

3. नातान ने राजा से कहा, जो कुछ तेरे मन में हो उसे कर; क्योंकि यहोवा तेरे संग है।

3. And Nathan said unto the king, All that is in thy heart, go do, for Yahweh is with thee.

4. उसी दिन रात को यहोवा का यह वचन नातान के पास पहुंचा,

4. But so it was, in that night, that the word of Yahweh came unto Nathan, saying:

5. कि जाकर मेरे दास दाऊद से कह, यहोवा सों कहता है, कि क्या तू मेरे निवास के लिये घर बनवाएगा?

5. Go and say unto my servant unto David: Thus, saith Yahweh, Shalt, thou, build me a house, for me to dwell in;

6. जिस दिन से मैं इस्रालिएयों को मिस्र से निकाल लाया आज के दिन तक मैं कभी घर में नहीं रहा, तम्बू के निवास में आया जाया करता हूँ।

6. seeing that I have not dwelt in a house, since the day that I brought up the sons of Israel out of Egypt, even unto this day, but have been wandering in a tent as my habitation?

7. जहां जहां मैं समस्त इस्राएलियों के बीच फिरता थि, क्या मैं ने कहीं इस्राएल के किसी गोत्रा से, जिसे मैं ने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल की चरवाही करने को ठहराया हो, ऐसी बात कभी कही, कि तुम ने मेरे लिऐ देवदारू का घर क्यों नहीं बनवाया?

7. Wheresoever I have wandered with any of the sons of Israel, spake I ever, a word, with any one of the tribes of Israel, whom I charged to shepherd my people Israel, saying, Wherefore have ye not built me a house, of cedar?

8. इसलिये अब तू मेरे दास दाऊद से ऐसा कह, कि सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मैं ने तो तुझे भेड़शाला से, और भ्ेाड़- बकरिसों के पीछे पीछे फिरने से, इस मनसा से बुला लिया कि तू मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल का प्रधान हो जाए।

8. Now, therefore, thus, shalt thou say unto my servant, unto David: Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, I myself, took thee away from the pasture, from after the flock, to become leader over my people, over Israel;

9. और जहां कहीं तू आया गया, वहां वहां मैं तेरे संग रहा, और तेरे समस्त शत्रुओं को तेरे साम्हने से नाश किया है; फिर मैं तेरे नाम को पृथ्वी पर के बड़े बड़े लोगों के नामों के समान महान कर दूंगा।

9. and was with thee, whithersoever thou didst go, and have cut off all thine enemies, from before thee, and will make thee a name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth;

10. और मैं अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल के लिये एक स्थान ठहराऊंगा, और उसको स्थिर करूंगा, कि वह अपने ही स्थान में बसी रहेेगी, और कभी चलायमान न होगी; और कुटिल लोग उसे फिर दु:ख न देने पाएंगे, जैसे कि पहिले दिनों में करते थे,

10. and will appoint a place for my people, for Israel, and will plant them, and they shall inhabit their place, and be unsettled no more, neither shall the sons of perversity again humiliate them, as at first;

11. वरन उस समय से भी जब मैं अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल के ऊपर न्यायी ठहराता था; और मैं तुझे तेरे समस्त शत्रुओं से विश्राम दूंगा। और यहोवा तुझे यह भी बताता है कि यहोवा तेरा घर बनाए रखेगा।

11. even from the day when I put judges in charge over my people Israel, thus will I give thee rest from all thine enemies. And Yahweh must tell thee that, a house, will Yahweh make for thee.

12. जब तेरी आयु पूरी हो जाएगी, और तू अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो जाएगा, तब मैं तेरे निज वंश को तेरे पीछे खड़ा करंके उसके राज्य को स्थिर करूंगा।

12. And it shall be that, when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, then will I raise up thy seed after thee, which proceedeth from thine own body, and I will establish his kingdom.

13. मेरे नाम का घर वही बनवाएगा, और मैं उसकी राजगद्दी को सदैव स्थिर रखूंगा।

13. He, shall build a house for my name, and I will establish his kingly throne unto times age-abiding:

14. मैं उसका पिता ठहरूंगा, और वह मेरा पुत्रा ठहरेगा। यदि वह अधर्म करे, तो मैं उसे मनुष्यों के योग्य दण्ड से, और आदमियों के योग्य मार से ताड़ना दूंगा।

14. I, will become his father, And, he, shall become my son: If he commit iniquity, then will I correct him, with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the sons of men;

15. परन्तु मेरी करूणा उस पर से ऐसे न हटेगी, जैसे मैं ने शाऊल पर से हटाकर उसको तेरे आगे से दूर किया।

15. But, my lovingkindness, shall not depart from him, as I caused it to depart from Saul, whom I caused to depart from before thee.

16. वरन तेरा घराना और तेरा राज्य मेरे साम्हने सदा अटल बना रहेगा; तेरी गद्दी सदैव बनी रहेगी।
लूका 1:32-33

16. So shall thy house and thy kingdom be made steadfast unto times age-abiding, before thee, thy throne, shall be established unto times age-abiding.

17. इन सब बातों और इस दर्शन के अनुसार नातान ने दाऊद को समझा दिया।

17. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so, spake Nathan unto David.

18. तब दाऊद राजा भीतर जाकर यहोवा के सम्मुख बैठा, और कहने लगा, हे प्रभु यहोवा, क्या कहूं, और मेरा घराना क्या है, कि तू ने मुझे यहां तक पहुंचा दिया है?

18. Then entered King David, and tarried before Yahweh, and said Who am, I, My Lord, Yahweh, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me, hitherto;

19. परन्तु तौभी, हे प्रभु यहोवा, यह तेरी दृष्टी में छोटी सी बात हुई; क्योंकि तु ने अपने दास के घराने के विषय आगे के बहुत दिनों तक की चर्चा की है, और हे प्रभु यहोवा, यह तो मनुष्य का नियम है !

19. and hast yet further made this seem little in thine eyes, My Lord, Yahweh, in that thou hast spoken, even of the house, of thy servant, for a great while to come? This, then is the law of manhood, O My Lord, Yahweh!

20. दाऊद तुझ से और क्या कह सकता है? हे प्रभु यहावा, तू तो अपने दास को जानता है !

20. What more, then, can David yet further speak unto thee, seeing that, thou thyself knowest thy servant, O My Lord Yahweh?

21. तू ने अपने वचन के निमित्त, और अपने ही मन के अनुसार, यह सब बड़ा काम किया है, कि तेरा दास उसको जान ले।

21. For the sake of thine own word, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this great thing, making it known unto thy servant.

22. इस कारण, हे यहोवा परमेश्वर, तू महान् है; क्योंकि जो कुछ हम ने अपने कानों से सुना है, उसके अनुसार तेरे तुल्य कोई नहीं, और न तुझे छोड़ कोई और परमेश्वर है।

22. For this cause, hast thou magnified thyself, O Yahweh Elohim, for there is none like unto, thee, yea there is no God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

23. फिर तेरी प्रजा इस्राएल के भी तुल्य कौन है? यह तो पृथ्वी भर में एक ही जाति है जिसे परमेश्वर ने जाकर अपनी निज प्रजा करने को छुड़ाया, इसलिये कि वह अपना नाम करे, ( और तुम्हारे लिये बड़े बड़े काम करे ) और तू अपनी प्रजा के साम्हने, जिसे तू ने मिस्री आदि जाति जाति के लोगों और उनके देवताओं से छूड़ा लिया, अपने देश के लिये भयानक काम करे।

23. Who, then, is like thy people, like Israel, a nation alone in the earth? whom God went to redeem for himself as a people, so to make himself a name, and to do for you the great deed, fearful things also for thy land, to make way for thy people, whom thou hadst redeemed for thyself, out of Egypt, dealing with nations and their god's;

24. और तू ने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल को अपनी सदा की प्रजा होने के लिये ठहराया; और हे यहोवा, तू आप उसका परमेश्वर है।

24. and hast established for thyself thy people Israel for thyself as a people, unto times age-abiding, thou thyself, also, O Yahweh, becoming their God.

25. अब हे यहोवा परमेश्वर, तू ने जो वचन अपने दास के और उसके घराने के विषय दिया है, उसे सदा के लिये स्थिर कर, और अपने कहने के अनूसार ही कर;

25. Now, therefore, O Yahweh Elohim, the word which thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, confirm thou, unto times age-abiding, and do, as thou hast spoken:

26. और यह कर कि लोग तेरे नाम की महिमा सदा किया करें, कि सेनाओं का यहोवा इस्राएल के ऊपर परमेश्वर है; और तेरे दास दाऊद का घराना तेरे साम्हने अटल रहे।

26. that thy name may be age-abidingly magnified, saying, Yahweh of hosts, is God over Israel, and so, the house of thy servant David, be established before thee.

27. क्योंकि, हे सेनाओं के यहोवा, हे इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, तू ने यह कहकर अपने दास पर प्रगट किया है, कि मैं तेरा घर बनाए रखूंगा; इस कारण तेरे दास को तुझ से यह प्रार्थना करने का हियाव हुआ है।

27. For, thou, O Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, hast unveiled the ear of thy servant, saying A house, will I build for thee. For this cause, hath thy servant found in his heart, to pray unto thee, this prayer.

28. और अब हे प्रभु यहोवा, तू ही परमेश्वर है, और तेरे वचन सत्य हैं, और तू ने अपने दास को यह भलाई करने का वचन दिया है;

28. Now, therefore, O My Lord, Yahweh, thou, art God, and, thy words, shall prove true, therefore hast thou spoken unto thy servant this goodness.

29. तो अब प्रसन्न होकर अपने दास के घराने पर ऐसी आशीष दे, कि वह तेरे सम्मुख सदैव बना रहे; क्योंकि, हे प्रभु यहोवा, तू ने ऐसा ही कहा है, और तेरे दास का घराना तुझ से आशीष पाकर सदैव धन्य रहे।

29. Now, therefore, be pleased to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue age-abidingly before thee, for, thou, O My Lord, Yahweh, hast spoken, therefore, with thine own blessing, shall the house of thy servant be age-abidingly blessed.
